The ideal candidate will have strong PC knowledge; relevant college degree or equivalent work experience, at least 5 years industry experience, and a proven track record of business development.  Candidates should appreciate the value of teamwork; be willing to leverage internal and external resources; be an excellent communicator, self-motivated and responsible.  Series 7 and 66 licenses required.

The Financial Planning Department at Hefren-Tillotson creates detailed, comprehensive financial plans for prospective and current clients to analyze their current financial situation and help advisors recommend specific actions to their clients. This entry-level position will expose the financial planner to hundreds of financial plans, learning opportunities from peers and financial advisors, and the opportunity to transition to a financial advisor or a specialized financial planner in the future.

The Financial Planner will be responsible for analyzing clients’ financial data provided by the financial advisor; building financial plans to analyze prospective clients’ retirement goals, education funding, insurance coverage, investments, estate, etc.; updating financial analyses for current clients; researching financial planning topics and analyzing specific client situations for advisors; helping to educate financial advisors on financial planning topics and new legislation; completing the requirements to become a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER professional. This will involve self-study for multiple exams and a comprehensive exam.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s Degree, excellent attention to detail, be proficient with MS Office, strong mathematical and analytical skills, ability to work in a team environment with a positive attitude, effective communication skills, both verbally and in writing and strong interpersonal skills. Experience with eMoney planning software is a plus.
