Hefren-Tillotson, Inc., one of Western Pennsylvanias largest investment advisory and financial planning firms, has announced the appointment of Chris McCoy as a Financial Advisor.
McCoy will specialize in comprehensive financial planning including insurance strategies, and estate, tax and investment planning. Before becoming a Hefren-Tillotson employee, Chris spent seven years in New York City as a proprietary equity trader where he formed trading strategies and equity portfolios geared to work in volatile market environments. He has a passion for the markets and loved the challenge that trading entailed.
Chris then started his career with Hefren-Tillotson in the trading department where he worked with the Investment Advisory team in implementing current investment strategies. Working in the trading department helped Chris form the foundation for understanding the Hefren-Tillotson financial planning process.
Chris is an investment advisor representative, a registered representative, and a licensed agent for Life, Accident and Health Insurance and is currently working on his CFP designation. He grew up in Pittsburgh where he graduated from Central Catholic. He has a Bachelors Degree in Finance and graduated magna cum laude from Boston College. He also played Division 1 tennis at Boston College and captained the team his senior year.
In his spare time, Chris enjoys playing golf, tennis, paddle, and spending time with his wife Virginia and daughter Kaylin.
“We are fortunate to have found Chris and his addition continues the steady growth of Hefren-Tillotson over the past three years,” said Kim Tillotson Fleming, Hefren-Tillotson Chief Executive Officer. “We are pleased to bring his expertise, passion to assist clients, and enthusiasm for our industry to our firm.”
