John Meegan is an Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Hefren-Tillotson, Inc. In this role since 2005, he oversees the daily operations of the firm, and, as a member of the Office of the President and Board of Directors helps develop and implement the firm’s strategic direction. Mr. Meegan is active and involved in all areas of the firm including hiring, training, risk management, revenue growth, expense efficiency, contract management and capital expenditures. Prior to joining Hefren-Tillotson, Mr. Meegan held various senior level positions with both regional and national securities firms.
Mr. Meegan is active in the securities industry, serving on various regulatory committees. Currently, he is the Chairman of both the Financial Responsibility and Uniform Practice Committees for FINRA (the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority). He is also a member of FINRA’s National Adjudicatory Council (NAC). He served as a member of the District Business Conduct Committee and is a former Chairman of the Continuing Education Council. He is involved as a participant and speaker at various securities industry roundtables and conferences.
Outside of the securities industry, Mr. Meegan is a member of the Board of Directors of Northwest Savings Bank (NWBI), serves on the Executive Committee of the Board and is Chairman of the Audit Committee. He is also a member of the Board of Directors of St. Clair Hospital, Catholic Charities of Pittsburgh, and the Pennsylvania Economy League. At St. Clair Hospital, he chairs the Finance and Human Resources Committee. He is also Finance Committee Chair of St. John Capistran Church in Upper St. Clair, PA. Mr. Meegan is an active volunteer for Amherst College, helping the college in their fundraising, athletic, and alumni affairs. He was recognized with a Distinguished Service Award from Amherst.
Mr. Meegan received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Amherst College, as well as his Masters of Business Administration degree in Finance from New York University (Leonard Stern School of Business).
