Vice President

Laurie K. Valenta is a Vice President with the Slaugenhaupt-Dippold Group at Hefren-Tillotson, Inc. She and her partners, Belynda D. Slaugenhaupt and Samuel Dippold, focus on helping individuals achieve their financial goals. Laurie also specializes in working with municipal pension plans, trusts and corporate qualified plans.

Ms. Valenta joined Hefren-Tillotson in April 2011 with more than twenty years of investment experience. She currently is Series 7 (FINRA General Securities Representative), Series 63 (Uniform Securities Agent State Law Examination), Series 65 (Uniform Investment Adviser Law Exam) and Series 66 (Uniform Combined State Law Exam) licensed.

Laurie’s prior employment included working in a management capacity at Morgan Stanley, where she obtained her Series 9 and Series 10 licenses (FINRA General Securities Sales Supervisor).

While studying Economics & International Business at Chatham University. Laurie worked part-time at PaineWebber’s (now UBS) Shadyside branch office. This is where she fell in love with the investment industry and decided to make it her career.

Laurie lives in the North Hills and has two children, Alexa and Nicolas. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, and loves to travel. Laurie is also very involved with her son’s school and her church. She enjoys volunteering with many different local organizations and is a member of the United Way’s Women’s Leadership Council of Pittsburgh.
