Kurt Carlson is an Executive Vice President with Hefren-Tillotson, Inc.; he joined the firm in 1990. As part of The Carlson Group, Kurt primarily consults with individuals in developing comprehensive financial plans and strategies to achieve their goals in the areas of investments, insurance, retirement, estate, and tax planning.
Kurt Carlson is also active on Hefren-Tillotson’s Asset Management Advisory Board, helping to guide and formulate overall investment strategies for Hefren-Tillotson’s fee-based clients. Mr. Carlson is a CFP® practitioner, a Chartered Financial Analyst charter holder (CFA®) and an Accredited Investment Fiduciary Auditor (AIFA®).
He was also named to Barron’s Top Advisor Rankings in Pennsylvania for 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019. He was also named Forbes Best-In-State Wealth Advisors for 2019.
In addition, Kurt can be heard on our weekly radio show, “Your Money and You“, airing live every Sunday morning from 9:00-11:00 AM EST on NewsRadio 1020 KDKA.
Mr. Carlson received his undergraduate degree, Bachelor of Arts in Financial Planning, from Grove City College. Kurt’s less formal education included time spent in Pakistan where his parents worked as missionaries.
He is married and has 2 daughters, Cassidy and Callie. Cassidy works with the Carlson Group at Hefren-Tillotson and Callie is currently working for Yelp in the DC area.
Kurt is a multi-year FIVE Star Wealth Manager Award winner presented by Five Star Professional.
