John Mackie is a Senior Vice President for Hefren-Tillotson, Inc. John joined Hefren-Tillotson in 2006 and is a shareholder of the privately held firm.
John is a partner of a dynamic team within Hefren-Tillotson called The Simon Group. The group specializes in financial planning and money management for entrepreneurs, business executives, retirees and professional athletes. Because of its loyal clients, The Simon Group of Hefren-Tillotson manages over $1 billion in assets.
Active in the community, John is a Director of the Pittsburgh Kids Foundation, a former Trustee of Grove City College, a past President of the Grove City College Alumni Association and a former President of the Boards of Directors for Anchorpoint Counseling Ministry. He is a graduate of Leadership Pittsburgh XXXVI.
In 2017, John was honored by Pittsburgh Magazine as a 40 under 40 awardee. Additionally, John is a sought-after speaker in the areas of philanthropy, retirement and financial planning.
John is a native of Pittsburgh and a graduate of the Grove City College with a Bachelor of Science in Business Management. John also earned a Master’s of Science in Organizational Leadership from Geneva College. When not meeting with clients, he enjoys coaching baseball, watching his daughter perform and taking long walks with his wife. He resides in the Northern suburbs of Pittsburgh with his wife and children.
