Jay Simon is a Senior Vice President and CFP® professional for Hefren-Tillotson, Inc. Jay joined Hefren-Tillotson in 1992 and is a shareholder of the privately-held firm. Jay leads a dynamic team within Hefren-Tillotson called THE SIMON GROUP. The group specializes in financial planning and money management for entrepreneurs, business executives, retirees and professional athletes. Because of its loyal clients, The Simon Group of Hefren-Tillotson manages over $1 billion.
Jay is highly motivated to help professional athletes and their families achieve financial independence for the many years that will come after the playing days are over. Hefren-Tillotson’s conservative approach to investing matches nicely to the needs of these young professionals.
Jay has been selected as a FIVE STAR Wealth Manager. This award is given to wealth managers in Pittsburgh who satisfied key client criteria and scored the highest in client satisfaction.
Jay Simon earned a Bachelor of Science degree in mathematics from Allegheny College and received a second bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Columbia University. Jay earned the CFP® professional designation in 1996.
Born and raised in Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania, Jay has high community, family and spiritual values. Established in 1992, the annual "Jay Simon Golf Classic" raises money for the "Norma L. Simon ALS Patient Equipment Fund," a fund named in memory of his mother created to provide current ALS patients with equipment not covered by insurance.
Jay is passionate about connecting people in the community. He is highly involved with the Big C Men’s Breakfast, POPS Men’s Group and Surge, a “Big C” ministry for Young Adults. Jay also leads several informal networking groups including Pittsburgh Biz Connections and Whites of the Eyes Biz Group.
Jay and his wife, Jennifer, make their home in Bradford Woods and have three children, Justine, Jonah and Jayne.
