James M. Sadowski

James M. Sadowski is a Senior Vice President and Financial Advisor with Hefren-Tillotson, Inc., joining the firm in 1998. Jim specializes in providing in-depth financial planning and money management services for small- to medium-sized businesses, business executives, school teachers and administrators, retirees and professional athletes. Mr. Sadowski also works closely with Hefren-Tillotson's Corporate Services Group in providing comprehensive 401(k) & 403(b) support to both plan participants and the plan trustees.
Jim partnered with Darren Hucko, Vice President and former senior member of Hefren-Tillotson’s Financial Planning Department, to form The Sadowski-Hucko Group. Their combined experience in financial planning and investment management, along with Hefren-Tillotson’s extensive resources, allow them to offer the highest level of financial services and expertise to a wide variety of clients.
Jim’s prior work experience includes 17+ years in the Banking and Savings and Loan industry and a nine-year career in professional baseball with the Pittsburgh Pirates, Kansas City Royals and Cincinnati Reds organizations. The majority of his baseball career was with the Pittsburgh organization, including a brief stint in the major leagues with the Pirates in 1974.
He was born and raised in Pittsburgh, graduating from Central Catholic High School. He also received his Associate Degree in Business at Manatee Junior College in Bradenton, FL. During Jim's banking career he attended the University of Pittsburgh, University of Georgia and Ohio State University for various Executive Development courses in banking.
In addition, Jim remains actively involved in various community programs including serving as an officer with the Pittsburgh Pirate Alumni Association in their efforts to raise money for various charities in Western Pennsylvania and serving on the Board of Directors for both the Catholic Youth Association of Pittsburgh and the Major League Baseball Players Alumni Association. Jim is also a proud member of the Oakmont Elks BPOE and the Ancient Order of Hibernians.
Jim and his wife, Julie, make their home in Shaler Township and have two children, Jim, Jr. and Jared. In his free time, Jim enjoys bowling, golfing and mentoring young pitchers on the fundamentals of pitching.
