The appropriate insurance licenses for use in retirement, estate, and business planning are also part of his professional credentials. He is a founding partner of The Weber Group, utilizing the “team within a team” approach at Hefren-Tillotson. Al works with his daughter, Vice President Erin Weber. Along with assistant, Katie Burr, the team strives to give clients a superior investment experience by providing optimal service, through shared expertise, for the individual and institution. Al appears regularly on the Ask the Advisor segment of Hefren-Tillotson’s Your Money and You radio show heard on KDKA News Radio, and has done market commentary for the afternoon drive-time slot on KDKA. He is Chairman of the City of Lower Burrell Police Civil Service Commission, and past President of The Pennsylvania State University, New Kensington Advisory Board. Al is a Rotary Foundation Paul Harris Fellow, and has served on Burrell School District’s Parent Advisory Committee.
Prior to joining Hefren-Tillotson in 2009, Al had 13 years of investment advisory experience at CooksonPeirce, where he was a Vice President and shareholder. Al also had twenty plus years of experience in technical sales and marketing prior to becoming a Financial Advisor. He started his industrial career as a Marketing Representative with Westinghouse. Al continued as an Account Manager with ASEA/ABB, and later ALSTOM.
He is a 1976 graduate of Gannon University, with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering. Al is a noted speaker on the Psychology of Investing, and has guest lectured at The Pennsylvania State University, New Kensington. He has written numerous articles and white papers, along with authoring the book The Ten Commandments of Investing.
As a life-long resident of the Pittsburgh area, he resides in Lower Burrell, PA, with his wife Kim. They have three children: Ryan, Justin, and Erin, who are all graduates of The Pennsylvania State University.Send Message
