Associate Advisor

The Hefren-Tillotson Associate Advisor Program is the opportunity we offer to entrepreneurially minded individuals who are interested in entering our noble profession and becoming a financial advisor. Upon completion of the program, the new advisor will have achieved the level of competency and professionalism in the areas of service, compliance, prospecting, financial planning, sales and marketing that we expect of our Financial Advisors. 

During this 36-month apprenticeship, the Associate Advisor will work side-by-side with one of our experienced Financial Advisors and immerse themselves in our MASTERPLAN® process. Additionally, the Associate Advisor will be expected to earn the Series 7, Series 66 and Certified Financial Planner designation.

Once they have achieved their licenses, and with coaching from our best advisors, the Associate Advisor will be expected to begin the process of building their own practice.  Upon successful completion of the program, the new Financial Advisor will have the experience, opportunity and foundation for success that only Hefren-Tillotson can offer.

The ideal candidate will have passed the Securities Industry Essentials (SIE or Essentials) Exam, have strong PC skills, and a relevant college degree or equivalent work experience.  Candidates should appreciate the value of teamwork; be willing to leverage internal and external resources; be an excellent communicator, self-motivated and responsible.

Financial Advisor

A Hefren-Tillotson Financial Advisor always puts their clients first.  The ideal candidate will believe in the power of financial planning, have high ethical standards and focus on building strong personal relationships.

The ideal candidate will have strong PC knowledge; relevant college degree or equivalent work experience, at least 5 years industry experience, and a proven track record of business development.  Candidates should appreciate the value of teamwork; be willing to leverage internal and external resources; be an excellent communicator, self-motivated and responsible.  Series 7 and 66 licenses required.

Financial Assistant - Various Branches

A Hefren-Tillotson Financial Assistant provides support to financial advisors in a fast-paced, multi-task environment by acting as the liaison between the client and operational/administrative tasks such as:  respond to client calls; open and process new accounts; maintain and monitor account and portfolio information; research and resolve client issues and requests; organize advisors’ schedules; keep abreast of software, operational procedures, and industry regulations.

The ideal candidate will possess an associate degree or equivalent experience; 1-2 years of brokerage experience preferred; excellent analytical, communication, and organization skills; proficiency in MS Word and Excel; Series 7 and Series 66 License a definite plus.  

We are hiring Financial Assistants for our South Hills, North Hills and Pittsburgh branches.

IT Support Technician

The IT Support Technician will provide computer helpdesk support to all Hefren employees and perform daily maintenance and administration duties. He/She will be responsible for responding to ongoing requests for services or help, deploying and administering desktop computers, troubleshooting the server and network problems, daily administration of various systems and performing any special projects and assignments as required.

This position requires a technical degree or equivalent experience. The candidates’ computer skills must include working knowledge of hardware, operating systems and application software. We would also need someone with reliable transportation to travel to our local branches.

Salesforce Administrator

The Salesforce Administrator will work alongside the Systems Analyst to implement and support Salesforce and be a primary point of contact for end users.  They will work closely with Financial Advisors, Financial Assistants, and other departments to understand system requirements and support business needs. They will configure and manage Salesforce and remain up to date on releases and capabilities, support, improve, and implement new processes, and assist users in understanding Salesforce.

The ideal candidate will have experience and knowledge of the financial services industry and its workflow, a strong aptitude for technology (programming skills NOT required), excellent communication, logical and analytical thinking, and ability to take initiative while managing multiple projects.  Practical industry experience and knowledge is essential.

Trader

The Trader handles all aspects of general trading for the Firm in addition to supporting Sr. Traders with Investment Advisory moves. (S)he responds to inquiries from sales representatives and firm personnel regarding trades, securities and administrative procedures. Under supervision, services portfolios in accordance with objectives of investments programs.

The ideal candidate will have strong PC knowledge; relevant college degree or equivalent work experience; Series 7 and 66 licenses required; prefer at least 2 years industry experience, but may consider a strong candidate with less experience.
