Kurt Carlson is a Senior Vice President with Hefren-Tillotson, Inc.; he joined the firm in 1990. Mr. Carlson primarily consults with individuals in developing comprehensive investment and estate planning strategies. He especially enjoys working closely with individuals to help them achieve their goals in the areas of investments, insurance, retirement, estate, and tax planning.
Kurt Carlson is also active in Hefren-Tillotson's Asset Management Group, helping to guide and formulate overall investment strategies for Hefren-Tillotson's fee-based clients. Mr. Carlson is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ practitioner, a Chartered Financial Analyst charter holder (CFA®) and an Accredited Investment Fiduciary Auditor (AIFA®).
Kurt's additional duties include working as one of the on-air voices alongside Jim Meredith on the popular radio show, "Your Money and You" heard Sundays from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on KDKA-AM/1020.
Outside activities include memberships with the Financial Planning Association and the CFA Institute. He is also very active in his church as an elder.
Mr. Carlson received his undergraduate degree at Grove City College - a Bachelor of Arts in Financial Planning. Kurt's less formal education included time spent in Pakistan where his parents worked as missionaries. He resides in the northern suburbs of Pittsburgh with his wife and two daughters.
